"In them lights," a song full of life and soul, was the first music video endeavor, young director Francis De La Torre ever took on. Close friends to the artist, Mr. Use.Ta (a.ka. Cory Colfield), Francis was given the opportunity to have an early screening of the album, entitled "The Antidote," for which the song was writen. Upon listening to the track "in Them Lights," Francis was immediately inspired and suggested a collaboration to bring the song to life on the screen.
Originally meant to be a backyard production, due to limited resources and budget, Cory and Francis began to enlist the help of fellow professionals; enter producer, Peter Soby Jr. Peter, a friend of Cory, offered to assist in the development of the music video. The vision then began to grow. Ultimately becoming what the video now depicts.
Filmmed on the "RED" camera, every shot was a VFX green screen shot (over 250, in all). DP, Ryo Miyamoto, brought life to the simple church sanctuary that was lent to the crew to film in. Francis took on all the post himself, from edit to Visual FX; utilizing Autodesk's Maya for the 3d lights and compositing every shot in Adobe After Effects. The final version was exported at 720p HD.
